We are looking for a:

The incumbent will be responsible for the technical support of a manufacturing site, will ensure the maintenance of good state of the plant, of electromechanical production equipment, packaging and utilities. S/he detects and resolves any problem of building or mechanical equipment and makes suggestions for continuous improvement.
The position reports to the Engineering Manager of three sites.

Main Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and monitors the implementation of a preventative maintenance system to ensure the proper operation of the plant s electromechanical equipment (production, packaging etc.) and maintaining the buildings in good condition.
  • Coordinates the maintenance procedures or repair of emergency equipment’s damages and assigns them to the technical staff of his/her department or to selected external partners with a view to their timely and successful rehabilitation.
  • Accumulates offers for purchase of equipment or for the reconstruction of premises and after approval, ensures timely, technically correct and without deviations from their financial budget implementation. Often, in technical works, he/she works with the central technical department.
  • Organizes, controls, evaluates and motivates employees in his/her department. Collaborates with the human resources department for trainings and performance appraisal the performance of his/her department and its recruitment.
  • Takes care of the appropriate training and development of the technical department staff.
  • Participates in meetings of the unit and organizes internal meetings on issues related to his/her department.
  • Participates in audits, having the responsibility of accompanying clients or public authorities, along with the Head of Quality Management, in his/her area of responsibility and providing the information requested.
  • Collaborates with the Plant s Health, Safety and Environmental Officer to create and implement an appropriate system of procedures to minimize work-related accidents, effective fire protection and environmental protection.
  • Proposes to Engineering Manager and BU Head the sums of costs to be included in the budget for the procedures that the technical department of the unit is responsible for and participates in the creation of the investment budget, having previously studied and cost each one separately. Systematically monitors expenses to avoid budget overruns.
  • Proceeds in issue / renewal of SOPs for the maintenance and operation of the equipment and approves those relating to his/her fields of competence.
  • Monitors the corrective / preventive action plan relating to his/her department and ensures its timely completion.
  • Installation of new engines:
  • Studies whether changes in dimensions or quality of packaging materials are required.
  • Specifies if required new parts, size parts.
  • Supervises thorough maintenance and cleaning.
  • Monitors the proper installation and integration into the production process.
  • Completes Installation and Operation Qualifications.
  • Orders for Parts:
  • Monitors the stock availability of sufficient spare parts.
  • Order the necessary domestic or foreign spare parts after negotiating the price (offers) and verifying the suitability of the ordered item
  • Approves Validation / Reports protocols as well as VMP and SMF

Education and Experience:

  • University degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with facilities management, capital projects, process improvement projects and maintenance programs
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing engineering staff and budget management accountability demonstrating increased competencies.
  • Sound professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry is highly desired
  • Scope requires an in-depth knowledge of (c)GMP and GEP regulations of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, utilities and processes

  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities. Able to manage across the organization and collaborate with cross functional teams
  • Leadership experience; strong people management skill
  • Excellent in systematic trouble shooting and problem solving skill
  • Good writing skills essential for investigations, reports and proposals
  • Business acumen
  • Fluency in English is a must
