We are a vigorous team of professionals specialised on providing premium executive search and assessment experience to the business world. Among the various industries we recruit for, we are exclusively retained to find a Ventures Director for our client, a digital multinational entertainment group with multiple business lines under its management.

Our client has acquired many consumer sectors in the region that are set to digitalise rapidly and is continuously investing in fast-growing start-ups. We are looking for a Ventures Director to join a highly dynamic and international team in order to launch a major new digital business in Greece, powered by world-class international white label tech.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with incredible founders to expand their businesses into CEE markets.

  • Identify businesses that would succeed in the region, but the service is not here yet.

  • Set up new digital businesses, either by identifying sectors that are interesting and identifying the right partner to work with, or identifying great start-ups and selling them on the idea of entering the region.

  • Check out the market, discuss with potential suppliers for the business, put together the business plan, negotiate the key terms etc and take this from an idea to a closed partnership agreement.

 

In your first 12 months you will:

  • Identify consumer-facing sectors with tremendous potential for digitalisation

  • Work out which business model suits the region the best (meet with potential clients or industry experts + desk research) and how we enter the market (JV, white label tech etc)

  • Identify VC-backed European start-ups where we could help them expand to the region

  • (Possibly) assist in the build of the company’s forthcoming launch, an exciting consumer-facing market, until the team is hired


Requirements:

  • 8-12 years of experience, ideally in the ventures space (VC or VC-backed business), in a high-end structured environment (strategy consulting, banking etc) or in a business development role in a major tech company.

  • MBA from a top business school is a plus.

  • Perfectly fluent in English and Greek (both written and verbal).

  • Be smart, driven and charismatic.

  • A self-starter with ability to take on tasks independently and great team-player.

  • Excellent core business skills – business plan modelling, sales and negotiation, understanding of barriers to entry and how to overcome them.

  • Good understanding of Greece and/or Romania and the UK/US/DE/Scandinavian markets to spot opportunities and ventures that would work in the region.

  • Keen to work in a highly dynamic and international environment.

  • Putting together and managing small to medium-sized teams, with any B2C online marketing and tech skills a plus.

  • Experience in consumer facing digital businesses is a plus.

  • Ideally have a strong network in the European VC and start-up ecosystem.
