We seek to recruit:

Senior Group Automation Engineer

Main responsibilities:

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our manufacturing automation environment and applications.
  • Directly support Engineering, World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Operations, Maintenance and Quality departments with implementation, troubleshooting and resolution of  automation in systems and processes.
  • Structure Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Develop and direct strategy and methods of Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP).
  • Ensure that all new projects are in compliance with industry 4.0 Digitalization Journey
  • Ensure company is current with industry guidance and trends to assure GAMP compliance.
  • Enforce change control and back-up processes and monitor compliance.
  • Develop and create automation engineering SOPs, test plans and technical reviews.
  • Direct and support the evaluation of new technologies.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies for upgrade, expansion, continuous improvement, life cycle, and preventive maintenance of the PLC, HMI, SCADA, Historian and Industrial Network environments.
  • Lead or participate on projects in the design, development, system integration and qualification of automated processes, equipment, and systems; including project management and working with internal staff and outside vendors to ensure anticipated activities and outputs are planned and effectively executed.
  • Develop process control solutions utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers, Human Machine Interfaces and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems.
  • Lead the development of standardized automation HMI screens Plant-wide.
  • Troubleshoot, modify and advise on ladder logic program applications for Plant processes and machinery.
  • Provide training and knowledge sharing to Instrument Technicians and other automation support personnel.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar related degree. A two-year technical/vocational degree in Industrial Technology with a PLC automation focus will be considered.
  • Minimum of (7) years related industry job experience. Previous experience in Pharma GMP environment will be an additional asset
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Willing and capable of completing assigned work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong control system automation background focused specifically in design, installation, programming and validation of automated processes.
  • Proficient office computer skills including Microsoft Office, Project and AutoCAD 2010 or later & 3D design.
  • Expect to travel 60%.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Previous HMI programming experience, Siemens Controllers , Allen-Bradley Factory Talk View Studio
  • Languages: English, Spanish or Italian & Greek is a prerequisite
