The IT Project Manager reports to the IT Program Manager of AXA and is responsible for managing the end-to-end IT solution design and implementation of processes & systems transformation projects for the company.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Monitor & control complex IT projects from initiation to closing
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, by provide structure, with clear deliverables outlined on detailed WBS diagrams, and thereafter managing appropriately avoiding scope creep and protecting the business case
  • Identify Technical Solutions in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts and IT Suppliers and leading the design of the target IT architectural components
  • Ensure alignment of technical deliverables with IT Architecture
  • Identify project tasks and appropriate resource allocations and managing the project schedule
  • Monitor progress and budget consumptions & develop regular status reports
  • Manage risks, develop mitigation actions and solutions & follow through for their implementation
  • Collaborate intensively with local & regional teams, arranging meetings and conference calls with the appropriate interlocutors
  • Facilitating the solution of Project Technical Issues, organizing project participants and driving discussions until resolution
  • Manage communication & expectations of stakeholders
  • Appropriate closing of projects & phases, internalizing the lessons learned


  • University Degree in Information Technology or relevant discipline
  • At least 2 years Project Management experience in complex I.T. projects or 3 years as Team Leader in software Delivery Units
  • Experience in V-model and/or Agile methods like Scrum/Kanban
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and software tools
  • Good knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Experience in Software engineering and modern development technologies
  • Business analysis experience is considered a strong plus
  • Qualification in Project Management by PMI or Prince2 is considered a plus
  • Application Architecture, SOA/ESB or Data Management/MIS experience will be considered a plus
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
